Frequently asked

Is CircaFlow a medical app?
No. CircaFlow is a planning and tracking tool based on conservative circadian science. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Questionnaire scores (ESS, ISI) are screening tools β€” discuss them with a healthcare provider, not as self-diagnoses.
Do I need to pay to use the sleep diary and clinician reports?
No. The sleep diary, questionnaires, clinician PDF reports, and CSV export are all free, permanently.
What devices and wearables are supported?
CircaFlow connects to Android Health Connect (Pro feature). This includes Samsung Galaxy Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, Withings, and any device that writes sleep data to Health Connect.
Does CircaFlow work for on-call or irregular schedules?
Yes. You can add shifts manually for any pattern β€” fixed nights, rotating blocks, early starts, or irregular one-off shifts. The daily plan adapts to whatever is upcoming.
Is my sleep data private?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. CircaFlow does not sell your data, does not share it with third parties for marketing, and does not use it to train AI models. You can export or delete your data at any time.
Is iOS supported?
Not yet. Android is available now. iOS is on the roadmap.
Can I import my existing sleep data?
Yes. CircaFlow supports importing sleep records via CSV. If you've been tracked by another app, a wearable export, or compatible clinical software, you can bring your full history into CircaFlow without manual re-entry.
How does the clinician report work?
Go to the Records screen β†’ tap "Clinician Report". CircaFlow generates a PDF on your device containing your 30-day sleep summary, ESS and ISI scores with clinical interpretation, and a full night-by-night diary table. Share via your device's native share sheet.
What are the ESS and ISI questionnaires?
The ESS (Epworth Sleepiness Scale) measures daytime sleepiness on a scale of 0–24. Developed by Dr. Murray Johns in 1991, it is one of the most widely used clinical tools worldwide. Scores above 10 suggest excessive daytime sleepiness worth discussing with a doctor. The ISI (Insomnia Severity Index) measures insomnia severity on a scale of 0–28, validated by Dr. Charles Morin. Both take about 2 minutes and are used in clinical practice and research. CircaFlow lets you retake them as often as you like and tracks your scores over time.
Is there a web version?
Not currently. CircaFlow is an Android app. The website is for information only.
